Privacy notice
Last updated October 23, 2026
This is the personal website of Jai Ranganathan (“I”, “me”). This notice explains what information the site collects, why, and what you can ask me to do with it. The short version: the site has no cookies, no analytics and no tracking, and the only personal information I receive is what you choose to send through the contact form.
What I collect
When you use the contact form, I receive what you enter:
- your name and work email address
- your company and role, the topic you pick, and any note you write
- the days and times of day you suggest, and your time zone (your browser fills this in so I can read your times correctly)
I don’t collect anything else about you, and I don’t combine it with information from other sources.
How I use it
Only to reply to you and arrange a conversation. I don’t use it for marketing, I don’t add you to a mailing list, and I never sell, rent or share it.
How it’s handled
- The site is hosted on Amazon Web Services (AWS) in the United States. When you send the form, an AWS service checks it and forwards it to my private inbox as an email, using Amazon SES. AWS acts as my service provider.
- Form submissions aren’t stored in a database. The service’s logs record only that a request was sent and its topic, and are deleted after 30 days.
- The email stays in my inbox for as long as our conversation is useful. You can ask me to delete it at any time.
- Like any website, the servers that deliver these pages briefly process technical details such as your IP address and browser type in order to serve the page and block abuse. I don’t keep access logs or use this data to identify you.
Cookies and local storage
This site sets no cookies, and it doesn’t use analytics, advertising, tracking pixels, embedded social media or any other third-party content. Fonts and images are served from this site, not from other companies. That’s why there’s no cookie banner: there’s nothing to consent to.
If you switch the color theme or palette, your browser remembers your choice in its local storage (jr-theme and jr-palette). These stay on your device, are never sent to me, and you can clear them at any time in your browser settings.
Links to other sites
The site links to my profiles on LinkedIn and X. If you follow those links, those companies’ own privacy policies apply.
Your choices and rights
Wherever you live, you can ask me to show you, correct or delete the information you sent. Use the contact form and mention “privacy” in your note; I’ll reply within 30 days.
If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, I process your information because you asked me to get in touch (steps taken at your request) and because I have a legitimate interest in replying to messages sent to me. You also have the right to object, to restrict processing, to receive your data in a portable form, and to complain to your local data protection authority. Your information is processed in the United States.
If you are a California resident: I don’t sell or share personal information, and I don’t use it for targeted advertising.
Children
This site is meant for professionals and isn’t directed at children under 16. I don’t knowingly collect their information.
Changes
If this notice changes, I’ll update the date at the top of this page.
